Serving Montgomery, Putnam, Greene and all surrounding counties.
Straight Paths Driving School offers a quality, cost-effective Driver's Education program consisting of 30 hours of classroom instruction and/or six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction for students in Montgomery, Putnam and surrounding counties.
Any student can take the classroom portion of this program when they turn 15. The driving portion of the program can also be taken at the age of 15 as long as the student has his/her learner's permit. Upon finishing the courses, the student will receive a certificate of completion. The 30 hours of classroom instruction complies with the State of Indiana's BMV curriculum. The six hours of behind-the-wheel practice will develop skills and attitudes to foster safe driving.
Students will have the opportunity to learn the laws and rules of the road. They will also improve their perceptual and cognitive skills. We address driving inexperience by putting students in situations that will increase their confidence and cut down on risky behaviors. In addition, we address peer pressure and explain consequences resulting from poor decisions. Defensive driving techniques will be discussed along with the importance of safe driving attitudes. Students will learn the ins and outs of the vehicle, as well as how the automobile works. The importance of signs, signals and roadway marking will also be crucial to the learning process.
